I've finally begun playing Final Fantasy XIII recently, and am happy to report that it's great! I'd been wary of it for a long time since the characters seem cliched on paper, but it turns out that they work great as an ensemble cast. Holy crap, play the Dragon Age series. It's amazing. It's what I was wishing Oblivion and Fable would be more like when I was playing them. It has personality that sucks you into the storytelling, a good interface (I'm looking at you, Fable 2), great animation (unlike Oblivion, though I can't speak for Skyrim), and runs well on the XBOX 360 (which ( Read more... )

Skyward Sword is overall awesome. I caught up with Zelda (who you try to track down for most of the game), and it was heartbreaking...the poor girl. She's stuck with a destiny she doesn't really deserve, but bears it nobly and even apologizes to Link for ruining his life with all this adventuring bullshit. My parents waited around the hospital all damn day on Monday for the doctor to show up, and he decided to do yet another round of surgery, this time taking out the implant, wires, and everything. This involved cutting open my dad's head again, making new incisions, cutting his neck to pull out wires, shaving his hair off--he's got to look like ( Read more... )

My dad is still stuck in the hospital, and will be there over the weekend at least. Turns out the leads (wires) going from his implant to his brain also tested positive for infection, so that has to be monitored/cleared up.
